FARMER

Allan co-founded Main Street Farms in 2011, which is now a burgeoning, 200-acre organic farm in Cortland, New York. MSF is now a well-known vegetable farm that supplies produce to elementary schools, colleges, restaurants and the homes of families all over New York state.

ENTREPRENEUR

After trying CBD for Lyme disease symptoms in 2016 and feeling relief, Allan dove into the world of hemp. In 2017 he and his business partner, Karli Miller-Hornick, obtained one of the first state licenses to grow industrial hemp, and New York Hemp Oil was born. They then created the brand Head & Heal as a way to vertically integrate their hemp into CBD products for consumer use. Since then, Head & Heal has expanded to offer capsules, lotions, balms, bath products, pet products and soon - a CBD beverage. In 2021, Allan and Karli also launched Florist Farms, offering premium cannabis flower—hemp on their e-commerce site and soon-to-be adult-use cannabis goodies at dispensaries throughout the state.

INDUSTRY LEADER

In 2018 Allan founded and became president of the New York Cannabis Growers and Processors Association. They work to build a New York State cannabis industry that works for small growers and processors, and recently helped pass the bill to legalize adult-use marijuana in NYS. Now, with a provisional growing license in-hand, Allan is among the first farmers growing legal, adult-use cannabis in the 2022 season.
